The TB Vets Second Annual Legacy Gala was a Success!

As the respiratory needs of children and adults in BC increase, so does the need for up-to-date respiratory equipment and new respiratory therapists.

To help serve this vital need, TB Vets hosted our second annual Legacy Gala on September 27, 2007, in the Executive Plaza Hotel on North Road in Coquitlam.

The evening was a celebration of the work begun by our founding veterans in 1946, the work of helping BC breathe. The evening featured talks by two people who have been helped by access to respiratory equipment, as well as a talk by Dr. Nelems, of Kelowna General Hospital.

TB Vets has pledged $100,000 toward a endobronchial ultrasound. Dr. Nelems explain how that complicated-sounding machine makes diagnosing lung cancer much simpler. This machine is the only one in BC, and one of three in all of Canada. With the new endobronchial ultrasound, people who needed invasive surgery in the past to diagnose their lung problems, can now be diagnosed in a day-patient procedure.
