Respiratory Therapists Save LivesOur Babylog campaign is a success because of you! On October 22, TB Vets presented a cheque to Thompson Rivers University for $39,500 to purchase a new Babylog ventilator.
The Respiratory Therapy program at Thompson Rivers University needed a Babylog 8000 ventilator for students to train on. The Babylog is especially designed to help the smallest and most fragile premature babies. Because of its special function, it works differently than any other ventilator. Hospitals across the province use it to help premature infants. BC Children's Hospital alone has 16 Babylog ventilators. And yet, Thompson Rivers University, home of the only Respiratory Therapy program in BC, hasn't had one--until now. Because of your help, they will have one this January. Two years from now, these students will be helping a premature baby in a hospital near you.
Sixty respiratory therapists a year graduate from Thompson Rivers University. This is less than the demand in BC. That is why it is vital that every respiratory therapy student receive the very best training. The more they learn, the more they are able to help British Columbians in respiratory distress. Because of you, respiratory therapy students wi
ll now know more about helping premature infants.
Your gift has made a difference to two generations: young adults starting on their careers, and tiny infants, just starting in life. Thanks to your help, the future will be a better place, where we can all breath more easily.
